Whenever a freethinker questions the current narrative that is being force-fed to them, inevitably, someone will derisively regard them as a conspiracy theorist and instruct said individual to locate their tin foil hat.
Unfortunately for those who are convinced that they are getting quality news from their television, the mainstream media only deals in lies, fiction, narratives, and half-truths. As Mark Twain once eloquently said, “there are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics.”
Having some moron who is glued to his favorite mainstream media program likening freethinkers to tabloid journalism is quite rich, but to be fair, some extremely crazy conspiracy theories out there are unworthy of serious attention. However, often the conspiratorial view, regardless of how vehemently it is mocked, can be the correct one in the end.
The bat-shit mainstream media and the bat-shit underground can both deal in absolute miscarriages of information, but there are pockets of skepticism somewhere in between where the truth is waiting to be revealed.
In retrospect, stories and news that were once believed to be pure fact were later disproven, and as such, some crazy conspiracy theories were proven to be factual.
Here are 9 unbelievable conspiracy theories that turned out to be true:
1. Secret Government Medical Experimentation
During the initial stages of the Covid-19 pandemic, a few conspiracy theories were floating around social media that the World Economic Forum in collaboration with the World Health Organization and big pharmaceutical companies had created panic to get a gullible population clamoring for safety to take an experimental vaccine.
The conspiracy theory regarded the worldwide population as lab rats who were taking the medication without knowing what it was going to do to them.
Immediately the response from news outlets and the public at large was to join in a giant gut laugh over the ridiculous notion. But before we write off the possibility as a paranoid delusion, we should recall the infamous Tuskegee Experiments.
The Tuskegee Syphilis Study was an unethical covert medical experiment performed by the United States Public Health Service (PHS) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) that lasted 40 years, from 1932 to 1972.
600 Black American men were subjected. 399 had latent syphilis while 201 were part of the control group. None of them were informed about the nature of the study. The men were promised free food and medical care for their participation, under the guise of treating “bad blood.”
They were monitored by healthcare workers but only given placebos, even though penicillin became the preferred treatment for syphilis by 1947. The purpose of the study was to observe the effects of the disease when left untreated. Researchers provided no medical treatment as the men grew ill, blind, insane, or expired from the disease.
In the mid-1960s, the experiment was called into question by a venereal disease investigator in San Francisco named Peter Buxton. Buxton expressed his concerns that the trials were unethical to his superiors, to no avail. He later leaked it to a member of the press, Jean Heller, who broke the story in July of 1972 sparking outrage from the community which led to the experiment being shut down.
For over 3 decades, the experiment remained undetected by the public.
2. Government Mind Control
Continuing down the rabbit hole of unwitting medical test subjects, let us not forget Project MK-Ultra. An illegal and unethical human experimentation program covertly run by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)
It was theorized that the government was using unknowing human test subjects in a top-secret experiment to learn the effects of brainwashing and psychological torture for military purposes.
In 1953, the CIA launched Project MK-Ultra, which ended in the early 1970s. The purpose of the project was to study and develop drugs and procedures that could be used in interrogations to weaken individuals and force confessions.
Some of the methods included dosing subjects without their knowledge with high doses of lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), electroshocks, hypnosis, sensory deprivation, isolation, and verbal and sexual abuse.
The study had a broad reach of institutions, including colleges, prisons, hospitals, and doctors' offices.
In 1973, then director of the CIA Richard Helm ordered that all files related to MK-Ultra were to be destroyed prompted by an investigation by the Rockefeller Commission. In 1977, a freedom of Information Act request uncovered volumes of literature, over 20,000 documents, that detailed the experiments.
Over 7,000 American Veterans took part in the experiments without informed consent, leading to lawsuits, claiming they were used as human guinea pigs.
Don't worry though, they would never do it again.
3. The Government is Spying On Us
During the Bush Years when anti-war protests were all the rage after the national tragedy of 9/11, it was theorized that protesters were being watched by the government due to the implementation of the Patriot Act.
Back in those days, if you hinted at the idea that there was a mass surveillance state orchestrated by the intelligence agencies like the NSA, you would be condemned as being an anti-American traitor.
When all was said and done, the reality is that the government was indeed spying on its citizens, and still does.
In 2013, whistleblower Edward Snowden confirmed what a lot of privacy advocates had long feared: we were being watched by the government.
Government agencies were collecting phone records from millions of Verizon customers and tapping into their conversations. Mass data collection via phone and computer was implemented mostly against American citizens.
In 2016, according to a major non-profit civil liberties advocacy group Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), the government sent 49,868 requests for user data to Facebook, 27,850 to Google, and 9,076 to Apple.
Yes, the government can also listen to you in real-time by monitoring your phone, laptop, and desktop. Big brother is indeed watching you, but you have nothing to hide, right?
4. Secret Prisons in the U.S.
Some people who question the government or engage in civil disobedience had long theorized that there was a special secret prison just for people like them where they would be removed from the general population of lawbreakers.
The theory was popularized among anarchist circles by the 2002 movie The Count of Monte Cristo (based on the Novel by Alexandre Dumas) where Edmond Dantes was sent to the Château d'If, a secret prison island in France where he was kept alive as a political prisoner despite all his friends and family being told that he was put to death for treason for conspiring with Napoleon Bonaparte.

5. U.S False Flag Operations Against Americans
September 11th, 2001, after the planes hit the twin towers, conspiracy theories started to emerge about the possibility of it being an inside job. The theory is that the Bush Family, conspiring with international elites and crony governments, had planned the controlled demolition of the twin towers so that they could get congress and the American public to go along with the limitless war against all enemies domestic and foreign.
Coincidentally, shortly after 911, congress was able to pass legislation that gave the Bush Administration carte blanch to expand the war machine against the middle east.
It may sound like an even more complex and crazy conspiracy theory given the fact that the official story was already riddled with conspiracy itself, but something like this has happened before.
In 1962, Operation Northwoods was a proposed false flag by the US Department of Defense as a means of dealing with Fidel Castro and the Cuban Government.
The plan would be for CIA operatives to carry out controlled acts of terrorism against the U.S. military and American civilians and blame it on Castro so that they could remove him from power with the support of the international community and the American public.
The plan was fortunately rejected by President John F. Kennedy.
While it may or may not be true that 9/11 was an inside job, it certainly is not outside of the realm of their thinking since the proposition has been made in the past.
6. The Government Beaming Secret Messages Into Your Brain
In 2003, a man by the name of Donald Friedman accused the government of using electromagnetic attacks against him and even submitted a freedom of information request to the FBI for details of all the “very serious crimes against me and other members of my family” that he believed the US Secret Service had been “committing… for a very long time.”
Despite being deemed mentally unwell by the courts and his family doctor, Friedman’s accusations were not entirely based on fantasy.
A 2006 declassified document about the Bioeffects of Selected Non-Lethal Weapons, illustrates that the government does have the technology available to interfere with the human mind. Within the report, there were also designs for weapons that could incapacitate people with fever or seizures for any desired period consistent with safety.
“Equipment needed to explore this concept in the laboratory is available today” the report notes.
In an ironic twist, it turns out the conspiracy theorists got something else right. Since the technology uses radio frequency energy, it can be deflected by using a shield made of metal or a metal screen.
In other words, a tin foil hat will protect you from the government trying to disrupt your thought patterns.
7. Weaponized Weather Control
Those who dabble in conspiracy theory have long been skeptical of the government’s HAARP technology. HAARP stands for High-Frequency Active Auroral Research Program. They have been accused of being able to control not only human minds but also the weather. Earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, and other natural disasters are allegedly within their control to create.
While that may be speculation, the U.S. government did attempt to manipulate the weather during the Vietnam War. They used a method referred to as cloud seeding to try to flood out travel routes in North Vietnam, Laos, and South Vietnam that would effectively intercept weapons transportation.
The U.S. Airforce was covertly seeding the clouds to manipulate the weather as a strategic method to prevent the advancing of enemy troops through the country.
8. Government Cronies in Hollywood
Since the Cold War, it has been speculated that the U.S. Government was collaborating with news media for public relations, manipulating domestic journalism for political ends.
According to author Deborah Davis, the CIA had conspired with a network of media talking heads and newspapers for political and social propaganda, in what was called Operation Mockingbird.
Operation Mockingbird allegedly was a covert U.S. Government agenda to implant pro-American sentiments into the news media and on television.
It was later confirmed that the Pentagon has had an entertainment liaison office since 1948. The CIA established a similar outfit in 1996. Through the Freedom of Information Act, it was revealed that the crony ties between Hollywood and the government are much deeper than originally suspected.
The files show that between 1911 and 2017, more than 800 featured films received funding from the U.S. Department of Defense. On cable television, more than 1000 titles received Pentagon funding, 900 of them from 2005.
The CIA has had considerable control over movies and television, shaping how the American public perceives politics and how the U.S. Government is perceived. They have manipulated countless scripts and news segments to influence public policy and international affairs, and to dominate the social fabric of society.
As Orwell once said, “Journalism is printing what someone else does not want to be printed, everything else is public relations.”
There is currently no indication that they have ever ceased having a relationship with the news media and Hollywood, so they may be brainwashing you as we speak.
9. The Link Between the Illuminati and the NSA
To be a true conspiracy buff, you must realize that all western democracies are controlled by a shadow government. A small but powerful cabal of elite billionaires secretly controls all the lesser puppet governments. Ordinary people in a republic believe that they are being represented through legitimate elections; that they are choosing their leaders to write laws that they get to live by of their own free volition.
Meanwhile, behind the scenes, secret organizations are running the show and swindling an unsuspecting, gullible populous into submissive tranquility.
The all-seeing eye, as they say.
Perhaps that is true, but there is a literal link between the Illuminati and the U.S. Government. If you type the Illuminati backward into an internet url, you will be redirected to the NSA’s website. Creepy, eh? You can test it out on your own time.
That wraps up the 9 unbelievable conspiracy theories that turned out to be true. Of course, many more convoluted happenings are going on in our world, enough to fill libraries.
Just remember, once upon a time all of these conspiracy theories that we listed here were denied as vehemently as a lot of the conspiracy theories today. Some are complete bullshit, some may later prove to be true.
